Early Days in The Meadows - Meadoword (February 2024)
In 1973, Sir Frank Taylor of Taylor Woodrow Construction purchased the Newburn Ranch in unincorporated Sarasota County for development.The Meadows was one of the first Developments of Regional Impact (DRI) in Sarasota County. On November 14, 1974, Sarasota County approved the development plan for The Meadows. We celebrate the 50th anniversary of the community this year.
